(More customer reviews)This mallet worked well for ground with medium hardness. Tried it in Joshua Tree and the handle broke close to the head of the mallet. Learned my lesson. Use the bountiful rocks lying around in Joshua Tree. And trying to pull the stakes out of this hard ground also bent the hook on the mallet. It was easier to just pull the stakes out using the straps that were anchored to them. Otherwise, for the ground softer than Joshua Tree, this made work a lot easier.
